Application to Enrol into a
Victorian Government School

2025 Foundation (Prep) Enrolments

The Department of Education (DE) has released a new statewide Foundation

(Prep) enrolment timeline for enrolling for 2025.

The timeline advises families when and how to enrol their child into Foundation (Prep) at a Victorian government primary school, including Diamond Creek East Primary School.

What you need to do:

  1. Use Find my School to locate your designated neighbourhood school (referred to as your local school) and other nearby government schools.

  2. Contact a government primary school to book a school tour or to learn more about the school and the enrolment application process.

  3. The 'Foundation (Prep) Enrolment Information Pack for Parents and Carers.' will be available from Monday 15 April 2024 from the General Office and will include an application form.

  4. The Application to Enrol into a Victorian Government School will be available to download from Monday 15 April. Once complete, please email back to diamond.creek.east.ps@education.vic.gov.au

  5. Submit an enrolment application for Foundation (Prep) by Friday 26 July 2024.

  6. You will be notified of the outcome of your application between Monday 29 July and Friday 9 August 2024. If you receive an enrolment offer, you should accept the offer by Friday 23 August 2024.

  7. Take part in enrolment information and transition sessions during Term 4, 2024.

  8. Your child will start Foundation (Prep) from Wednesday 29 January 2025.

If you are interested in enrolling at our school, please complete the Application Form which will be available from Monday 15 April 2024 and send it to diamond.creek.east.ps@education.vic.gov.au. If you require a paper form, please contact the general office on: 9438 1413.

An enrolment form will be provided when placement is offered.

Our school follows the Department of Education’s Enrolment Policy for the enrolment, placement, and transfer of students.

Students who live within the school zone are guaranteed a place at our school. To find out whether you live in zone, visit findmyschool.vic.gov.au

All other applications will be considered subject to available space, and prioritised according to:

1.      students with a sibling at the same permanent address who are attending the school at the same time

2.      all other students in order of closeness of their home to the school.
